Full course description
Online Teaching (Re)Certification Seminar
All online instructors at UMKC are required to maintain current certification in online teaching. This fully online, asynchronous seminar is designed for instructors whose certification has expired, or who are seeking to refresh their skills in quality online course design and facilitation.
Over six weeks, participants engage in weekly modules that provide updates on policy, pedagogy, and best practices in online learning. Faculty explore the fundamentals of quality course design, facilitation, and assessment, align course and module objectives, and practice integrating UMKC-supported technologies—including Canvas, Panopto, Ally, TidyUP, and Zoom—to create accessible and engaging learning experiences for all students.
