Full course description
Start your UMKC faculty experience with confidence — and a good cup of coffee.
This year, we’re excited to offer LATTE for the very first time — a new, self-paced online orientation created to help new faculty settle in, find essential resources, and start building connections before classes begin.
Whether you’re new to Kansas City, new to teaching, or simply new to UMKC, LATTE gives you an easy way to explore what you’ll need to thrive — one short module at a time.
What to Expect in LATTE:
-
Short, practical online modules released weekly starting in July
-
Tips for navigating UMKC’s teaching, research, and faculty platforms
-
Resources to support your students — and yourself
-
An introduction to UMKC’s academic culture and community
-
Connections to the Diane Filion Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFE) and faculty support networks
This is our first time offering LATTE — and we designed it based on what we hear new faculty need most. Your participation will also help shape future improvements, so your feedback is welcome!
