Welcome to Foundations, the first step in the Flexible Online Teaching Recertification (FOTR) process. This course is designed to help you reflect on your current course design and teaching practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop a professional learning plan that aligns with the needs of your students and your own instructional goals.
FOTR recognizes that strong online teaching develops through ongoing reflection, professional learning, and continuous improvement. Rather than requiring all instructors to follow the same learning pathway, the recertification process gives you opportunities to select sprint experiences that are most relevant to your teaching context and course improvement priorities.
Foundations serves as the planning stage of that journey. Throughout the course, you will review your course through multiple lenses, explore accessibility and inclusive learning practices, identify professional learning priorities, and create a personalized Action Plan that will guide your sprint selections.
